LingonWerry™ 5 % proanthosyanidins
Press release: Vitafoods, Geneve 18.-20.5.2010Kiantama Oy has launched a new product, LINGONWERRY™, which is a powdery product of 100 % lingonberry solids (Vaccinium vitis-idaea). It is totally natural from clean and wild Scandinavian forest berries.
LINGONWERRY™ contains at least 5 % proanthocyanidins (PACs) measured via the HPLC method*. The PACs are known for their unique “anti-adhesion” activity that protects the body from harmful bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. Lingonberry PACs contain a unique A-type structure, while most other plants contain only the more common B-type PACs. It is A-type PACs that are responsible for the anti-adhesion mechanism of action.
LINGONWERRY™ can be used in many type of food and nutraceutical applications.
