Bilberry crop is expected to be average
Based on the observations concerning bilberry flowering and preliminary green berry amount, can bilberry crop be expected to be average. Due to the hot weather period in May, the flowering happened only in one week in Southern and Central Finland. Succeeding of pollination in the best flowering time is decisive for crop size. Based on the flowering, the bilberry crop is expected to be ripe in the middle of July in Southern and Central Finland. In Kainuu and Lappland regions, the crop ripening is timed at the end of July.
